WinFindr supports searching for files based on their content, including PDF files, Word documents, epub ebook files, source code files and OpenOffice documents.

To find files based on their content in Windows with WinFindr, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Open WinFindr. Download it now if you haven’t already.
  2. Enter a search word or phrase in the search box. For example, “cat” because one needs to be looking for one’s cat.
  3. Control-Click on the “Files” checkbox to only search for files. (Optional step)
  4. Select “Look for files based on their content ...”
  5. Select the type of files you want to search for, for example “Search inside PDF documents” or “Search inside DOC documents”
  6. Click on the “Start” button to start the search.
  7. WinFindr will now search for all files based on their content and list them for you.
